MUPA Twist and Snap :)
|
|
Hello
I did my previous zoom posting using a binocular OK,lets get on with the new posting...
I was inspired by our very own Mr. Abdhakamabdah's ingenius FotoPage entry.
http://abdhakamabdah.fotopages.com/?entry=786103&back=http://abdhakamabdah.fotopages.com/?page=2#CommentsTop
It's like technichal composition, if there is such a thing... To those of you who read what I write, you'd know that these photos arent distorted using software...
ENJOY!!!
What I did was locate the MUPA lens' center of gravity, clicked and rotate MUPA about this point. I also tried rocking it side to side, shaking MUPA and snap while making a very fast 'MUPA motion' similar to panning from left to right...
To obtain best results using this method, shoot eaither early in the morning or at dusk, when the sun light is weak...
I added a little twist to Mr. Abdhakamabdahs' technique that is a NEGATIVE FRAME. Just take your original photo, copy it and change it to negative, rezise it to 105% larger and simply put the original photo infront of the slightly bigger negative. Now you have the NEGATIVE FRAME
here are the negatives used for the frames

MUPA Optical Zoom...
|
|
Hello,
The subjects you are about to see in these series of photographs are at approximatley 7m or further away from MUPA. Keep in mind MUPA is a point and shoot mobile phone with no optical zoom lens. So the subjects shoud look like ants at this distance... Fortunately, MUPA MAN figured out a way to change MUPA into a super zoomer These are optcially zoomed pictures from my mobile phone, perhaps the 1st in the world!!! I'm not zooming in using the nonsense noisy digital zoom button. Digital zoom is noisy simply because ADC Quantization Noise adds uncertainties to images...
Some of the pictures have darkened and unfocused areas due to the improper placing of the zoom lens I used. I'll correct these artifacts once I know how...
Enjoy!!!
ps-the 1st two pictures are in response to Mr. Edoras http://edoras.fotopages.com/ Comments
Inset is the optically zoomed ANABUKI Logo... (???m)
Raw Anabuki Logo after using Zoom Lens
walking... (20m)
lighting... (20m)
smiling... (10m)
I've resorted to posting at 500pixel width, because when I post at 700pixels, potrait orientated pictures will spill out of the screen. Dont understand? Checkout my previous posting... The pictures are way too big... Viewers cannot see the whole picture in one shot unless they print it out, which I doubt people do... Anyway, MUPA has a spatial resolution of 1280x960 pixels^2, thats SXGA ... If anyone wants the full blown version, e-mail me

How did I design a tele-zoom lens system for MUPA??? Patients my friends...

MUPA sees Injustice :(
|
|
Hello...
How's everyones snap happy life going??? Me??? I just went to the Hamamatsu Zoo, thanks for asking... Due to the tip top safety of the enclosures, I cant get too close to the animals, especially the dangerous ones heheh... Anyway, heres my best shots...
Enjoy!!!
merak hamamatsu...
simba...
pak belang...
itik...
i like this enclosures' design... makes the polar bear pace and think everyday how to get to the seal...
dont forget...
http://izhal.blogspot.com/
ps-like Mr.Suhaimi commented, yes it is sad that these animals are behind bars... At one point while shooting, I did feel pity for the creatures... We Humans are Losy Animals... Im changing the title from Zooming to Injustice... do checkout http://wha787.fotopages.com/ . He claims not to be a photographer, but I think he's not telling the truth

MUPA dan Lubang Berapi ...
|
|
Many have complained of having 'striped noise' when shooting using their mobile phones. My best bet would be that your sensor is CMOS. CMOS sensors will exhibit this type of noise which is FIXED PATTERN NOISE. Its due to CMOS circuit differences in th the column parallel radout circuit a.k.a Noise Canceller Circuit. This circuit is used to readout each pixel from your sensor array... And at low light levels, you'd see more and mores stripes because 'Dark Current' dominates giving rise to more FPN... Photographers should read on this phenomena and know how to cancel dark current induced FPN from your camera...
On the other hand, you dont have striped noise in CCD sensors, why? Simply because you dont have the column parallel readout circuits... OK thats enough for now...
Here are some pictures I captured last winter, just before leaving my laboratory... The 1st two pictures are litted using the white LED built into MUPA. Note no noise is evident... See if you can guess what it is
ENJOY!!!

MUPA at Hamamatsu Kite Festival
|
|
Its Golden Week here in Hamamatsu. Many festivals... Here are some I photos I captured earlier today at the Hamamatsu Kite Festival using my you know what... mobile phone... .If I'm not mistaken, the purpose of this kite festival is to bless small childrens in a family...
I was astonished when I learned my mobile phone could capture 310 pictures after full charge at QVGA mode... Maybe it could do more if the battery didnt die... CCDs sure consume more power...
before anyone asks me, 'matsuri' means festival...
ENJOY!!!
very very lucky shot... if you know what I mean...
closeups of some japanese kites... our wau bulan looks better aye...
a few tired men...
note the size of the lines used...
very interesting people at the 'matsuri'
me and my family... my picture was taken by my wife...
the festival was held by the pacific ocean...
dont forget...

MUPA: Panning with Mobile Phones
|
|
I did an entry on panning using MUPA once. It wasnt that good back then because it was purely experimental... You could have a look by clicking on the link below...
http://izhals.fotopages.com/?entry=716862&back=http://izhals.fotopages.com/?page=1#CommentsTop
I think I'm getting better at it now. With a mobile phone, you need just the right amount of light and camera settings... Its easy to pan with mobile phone cameras because they are light...
ENJOY!!!
Not just cars, I also pan my family members
Dont they look like they're racing to pose for MUPA MAN???
Negative picture effect...
Rotated, reflected, positive and negative representation
oh yeah, dont forget my blog...

MUPA snaps another camera
|
|
Hello...
Remember the 3D images in my previous entry? I'd like to show you what the camera that took those images looked like once packaged... Its still under research so dont expect any fancy, slim body... The pictures of the TOF camera were taken using my MUPA under very intense lighting to highlight only the subjects... Which of the three pictures do you prefer? I'm trying to select one to be put inside the catalog for this camera
TOF Camera...
TOF Camera and Laptop for viewing 3D images...
another view...
ENJOY!!!

TRUE DEPTH OF FIELD
|
|
IMAGES THIS TIME ARE NOT CAPTURED USING MUPA
Depth of Field (DOF) is a term used by photographers to explain distance resolution of a lens used. With an infinite DOF, all images produced look sharp. No bokeh (japanese for blurring, if i'm not mistaken) is observed in a picture... However, DOF in conventional cameras do not give a 3rd dimensional feeling of the scene...
Range images are images that contain distance information of objects from the camera/sensor or in other words, a real 3D DOF is embedded within the image. With real DOF information, 3D snap shot SLRs are possible in the near future. It took me 2 years to develop the sensor for this Time-of-Flight (TOF) range image camera along with others in my group.
To date, the best range and 3D images are produced by laser triangulation but is not suitable for consumer cameras because a time consuming laser scanning method must be used. TOF using a pulsing infrared light is more suitable...
Here are some samples of range images. The scene is composed of 3 cute little stuffed penguins and behind them 3 cardboard boxes...
ENJOY!!!

MUPA and Reflection
|
|
Hello,
To get a good relection, one must shoot at a very small angle from the normal or surface of reflection. When the angle is small, light due to reflection is dominant than refraction. OK thats enough, I dont want to get into sine, cosine and tangent...
the last image you see has nothing to do with reflection... I consider my self lucky being able to MUPA SNAP that picture...
Just to show you how I present reflection of objects... Hopefully you like it...
dont forget
